what to expect at our studio
Half of the students who attend our classes are true beginners. We love welcoming new friends and introducing them to yoga!
We teach anatomy-first yoga. Our goal is to develop body awareness of muscular and skeletal structure so that our physical practice is safe and effective.
Our classes always incorporate science-backed breathing techniques and mindfulness. These are not fancy add-ons, but core aspects of yogic philosophy. So after establishing a foundation of physical safety, we love to teach that yoga is much more than stretching!
to yoga, and to yourself
Yoga is a practice, not a performance. Our studio is a place of authenticity and integrity. We call this satya. Your postures don't need to look fancy; they need to feel good.
for all abilities
You always have permission to move your body in a way that feels good, as long as it does not cause harm to anyone else. If you need adapted instruction for your body or your child's practice, please let us know before class begins. Props, including chairs, are available to make postures accessible to you. Communicating your needs in advance will help us prepare a smooth and comfortable experience for you.
Yoga is for every body!
many yogas
Ironically, the broad tradition of yoga is unified only its overarching goal of liberation. Because yogic paths vary widely in thought, teaching, and practice, we invite you to read more about yoga's history and our philosophy.
